Monteros is the head town of the Monteros Department in Tucumán Province, Argentina. It is 58 km (36 mi) south-west of the provincial capital San Miguel de Tucumán, at an altitude of 532 m (1,745 ft), and is surrounded by four rivers. It had 23,771 inhabitants at the 2001 census [INDEC]. The average temperature is 35 °C (95 °F) in summer and 10 °C (50 °F) in winter, with a high of 45 °C (113 °F) and a low of −3 °C (27 °F).
