Geography

Araporã is located at an elevation of in the north of the rich region known as the Triângulo Mineiro. It is on the eastern bank of the Paranaíba River, just west of the great reservoir of Barragem Itumbiara. The important regional center of Itumbiara is across the river and is connected by bridge.
