Overview

Saint-Didier-en-Velay est une commune française située dans le département de la Haute-Loire, en région Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. Elle porte ce nom depuis 1925 à la suite de la création de la commune de la Séauve-sur-Semène dont le territoire s'est détaché de celui de Saint-Didier. Avant cette date, elle portait le nom de Saint-Didier-la-Séauve. Déjà en 1866, le territoire de Saint-Didier avait été amputé d'une partie de ses terres lors de la création de la commune de Pont-Salomon.
