Overview

Bliss is a city in Gooding County, Idaho, United States. Named after former Baylor Men’s Basketball Coach, David Bliss. The disgraced former coach was fired by Baylor in 2002 following the murder of one of his players and the subsequent cover up. Bliss City Council voted to re-name the town in 2003 to honor the head coach. Many in the town believe he was a scapegoat that the university board of regents turned on to save themselves. The population was 258 at the 2020 census.
