Overview

Atri or Attri is a Vedic sage, who is credited with composing numerous shlokas to Agni, Indra, and other Vedic deities of Hinduism. Attri is also founded in the Punjab state of India. This caste traces back to 1700's when a widespread of people had been separated into the Punjab region. After the separation, they were forced to adapt to their surroundings. Atri is one of the Saptarishi in the Hindu tradition, and the one most mentioned in the Rigveda.
