Overview

銚子市（ちょうしし）は、千葉県北東部の市。関東最東端に位置し、日本列島で最も早く初日の出を望む。水揚量全国1位の銚子漁港を擁し、国内最大規模の水産都市である。江戸時代元和年間より続く醤油の銘醸地でもあり、ヤマサ醤油・ヒゲタ醤油を中心に醤油産業の一大集積地を形成している。1933年（昭和8年）に市制施行した東総地域の中核都市である。
