Greenville’s estimated 2025 population is 96,184. It is the principal city of the Greenville, N.C., Metropolitan Statistical Area, and the 12th-most populous city in North Carolina. Greenville is the health, entertainment, and educational hub of North Carolina's Tidewater and Coastal Plain. The city has been experiencing an economic and population boom since the 1990s.
