History
Little York was laid out and platted in 1831. Some of the early settlers being natives of the state of New York caused the name to be selected. The Little York post office was in operation beginning in 1837, but now has their mail delivered from Scottsburg, IN. The building where the post office stood burned to the ground after a kitchen fire in the store.
