History
The Glendale area has been inhabited for thousands of years. The earliest known inhabitants were Woodland period Mound Builders, who constructed earthen effigy and burial mounds in the area. In the 1950s, the construction of Interstate 43 further contributed to the city's rapid growth, and the population roughly tripled between 1950 and 1960.
